In 2007, Christl Mahfouz opened Ace Specialties with one client and one dream. The business quickly grew its client base and professional service offerings as new client needs arose, earning the recognition as one of the “go-to” spots along the Gulf Coast for oilfield workwear and promotional products. The business continued to grow and thrive until the unfortunate economic downturn of 2015 when Louisiana’s oil and gas industry was hit especially hard. It was an economic shock felt by many in the Lafayette, LA community, including Ace Specialties. With the majority of its client-base being oilfield companies, Ace Specialties found itself on the brink of losing everything, and Christl knew that it was time to either evolve or face closing the business.
After months of prayer and creative thinking, Christl saw the sign she needed that would not only save, but breathe new life into her business. On June 14, 2015, Christl was watching as Donald J. Trump took his famous ride down the escalator in Trump Tower, announcing he would be running for President of the United States of America. Christl and her team designed logos, printed products and created a merchandise site. This proactive initiative landed Christl the opportunity to pitch her business to the Donald J. Trump for President Campaign team with a presentation in Trump Tower on July 22, 2015. The presentation featured made in the USA merchandise branded with many iconic logos and designs that are still in use today.
In addition to being the go-to company for American Made promotional products and apparel, Ace Specialties is proud to work with many Republican candidates to raise money by way of merchandise sales. On Ace’s merchandise and fundraising platform, candidates are able to promote their brand with merchandise while raising contributions for their campaign.
In its 12 year history, Ace Specialties has continuously exceeded its goals and outgrown the physical bounds of the buildings where it has been housed. The Ace Specialties headquarters began in a 7,000 square foot facility, then moved to a 12,000 square foot facility and quickly outgrew that space, requiring a move to its current 40,000 square foot location, which is fully equipped with manufacturing equipment to support its existing and new clients as well as to prepare for the 2020 campaign season.
